Detroit's Warrendale Charter Academy has before and after school care operating from within the building. Warrendale has contracted with Latchkey Learning Station to provide this service. Morning care starts at 6:00 a.m. and ends when school starts. The afternoon program starts when school ends and goes until 6:00 p.m.
After school, elementary and middle school students are provided with a healthy snack. They are encouraged to do their homework. They are taken outside, weather permitting. They are provided games and activities when indoors. They take trips as well.
Students attending Latchkey Learning Station are welcome to attend the many after school activities provided by the Board of Education. The staff will monitor them while they attend these events.
