Detroit's Warrendale Charter Academy students are taught from the earliest of grades about the importance of showing good citizenship and doing their part to be socially responsible and positively impact the world they live in. These teachings are extended beyond the home and the classroom and into the Detroit community through a variety of hands-on community service projects throughout the year.
Community service projects are often tied in with the moral focus program and give elementary and middle school students the opportunity to demonstrate the virtues they have learned such as gratitude or courage.
Warrendale Charter Academy is proud to have a National Junior Honor Society and a Student Council. The Student Council does service projects throughout the Detroit community including a food drive. Last year they raised money for the community.
Our P.E. teacher hosts Jump Rope for Heart, a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.
